Application for the 2026 Management Committee

The Brisbane Junior Chamber of Commerce (BJCC) invites you to apply to serve as a member on its 2026 Management Committee. The following positions are available for applications:

  • Secretary

  • Treasurer

  • Memberships Chair

  • Events Chair

Applications will be considered at the BJCC’s Annual General Meeting to be held at 5:30pm (AEST) on Tuesday, 20 January 2026.

All Positions

Alongside the position specific responsibilities below, all Committee members are responsible for:

  • Contributing to the planning and executing of allocated events

  • Managing Ambassadors for projects and mentoring them as needed

  • Promoting BJCC events and securing sponsorships

  • Participating in planning and committee meetings, including reviewing new members, financial statements, and event plans

  • Upholding the BJCC Code of Conduct and Association Rules

Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for managing the administrative and governance functions of the association and ensuring compliance with relevant Queensland requirements for unincorporated associations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the association’s official records, including the membership register, meeting minutes, correspondence and key documents.

  • Prepare agendas, distribute notices of meetings and record accurate minutes for committee and general meetings.

  • Ensure the association complies with its constitution and any applicable legal or regulatory obligations in Queensland.

  • Assist the Chair and committee in organising meetings, elections and AGM requirements.

  • Support the upkeep of policies, procedures and organisational information.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for managing the financial affairs of the association and ensuring transparent, accurate and compliant financial practices in accordance with the association’s constitution and relevant Queensland requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial transactions, maintain accurate financial records and ensure secure handling of association funds.

  • Prepare and present financial reports to the committee and membership, including at the Annual General Meeting.

  • Develop and monitor the association’s budget and provide financial advice to support decision-making.

  • Manage banking activities, including reconciliations, payments, deposits and maintenance of financial accounts.

  • Support the Management Committee in financial planning and fundraising processes.

Memberships Chair

The Memberships Chair is responsible for managing the association’s membership processes and ensuring a positive, welcoming experience for all members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the association’s membership register and ensure accurate records of member details and status.

  • Coordinate membership applications, renewals, payments and enquiries.

  • Communicate with prospective and current members, providing information about the association, events and benefits.

  • Support member engagement, including welcoming new members and assisting with outreach or retention activities.

  • Provide membership reports to the committee and contribute to planning for membership growth.

Events Chair

The Events Chair is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering events that support the BJCC’s purpose, engage members and strengthen community involvement. Events are planned alongside the Committee, with shared involvement in organisation and execution. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan organise and oversee the delivery of key association events, meetings, workshops or social activities, in conjunction with the Committee.

  • Coordinate logistics of allocated events such as venues, schedules, catering, equipment and volunteer support.

  • Work with the Management Committee to develop an annual events calendar aligned with strategic goals.

  • Monitor event budgets and work with the Treasurer to track expenses and manage costs.

  • Evaluate events and report outcomes to the Management Committee.
